Military offices and units across Vietnam set up General Vo Nguyen Giap’s altars and hold ceremonies for militants and people to pay their last respect to the General from 7:30 a.m. on October 12.

The act is in recognition of General Giap’s great merits, of mourners’ respect and admiration to the late Commander-in-Chief of the Vietnam People’s Army and in compliance with the people and soldiers’ desire.

The military commands at the district level and upward will hold the respect paying for the General at the local military offices.

The heads of military units which station in border areas or in the islands will decide suitable ways to pay last tribute to General Giap.
