First congress of Martyr Families Support Association held

The event was attended by Vice Chairman Nguyen Thanh Tri of the provincial People’s Committee and 200 delegates representing martyrs’ families across the province.

Addressing at the event, the Vice Chairman highly appreciated the establishment of the DMFSA and its contributions in supporting martyrs’ relatives to find these remains and giving assistance to needy martyr families .

The congress elected a 21-member executive committee for the 2013-2018 term. Ms Nguyen Thi Bach Tuyet, former Standing Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, was named as Chairwoman emeritus of DMFSA. Mr Nguyen Xuan Chien, Vice Chairman of Fatherland Front Committee, was re-elected Chairman of the association.

As known, Dong Nai is the first locality in the country to establish Martyr Families Support Association. The province is now home to 11,000 martyrs buried at 6 martyrs cemeteries and 37 living heroic mothers out of 374 ones.
