President Truong Tan Sang and his entourage left Hanoi on June 27, beginning a two-day State visit to Indonesia at the invitation of President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.

President Truong Tan Sang and his entourage left Hanoi on June 27, beginning a two-day State visit to Indonesia at the invitation of President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.

The visit aims to affirm Vietnam’s consistent policy of attaching importance to deepening the friendship and comprehensive cooperation with Indonesia, its traditional and important partner in ASEAN and the region.

On the occasion, President Sang granted interviews to the Jakarta Post and ANTARA News of Indonesia, highlighting the Vietnam-Indonesia time-honoured traditional friendship, which has been continuously nurtured by generations of the leaders and the peoples of the two countries.

He affirmed that his visit offers a good opportunity for both sides to officially elevate bilateral relations to a new height, matching the role, prestige and potential of each country as well as their excellent friendship.
