(ĐN)- On June 21, Dong Nai Journalist’s Association organized a ceremony to mark the 88th Vietnamese Journalism Day and award the 24th Golden Pen Prize to the winners.

Mai Song Be, Chairman of Dong Nai Journalists Association, recalled the glorious history of the Revolutionary Press over the past years and stressed that provincial journalists should continue to uphold the glorious traditions of the revolutionary press founded by President Ho Chi Minh to fulfill their political tasks and meet the increasing demand of the local readers or viewers.
Addressing at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Tran Van Vinh highly appreciated the contributions made by Dong Nai’s press to the cause of industrialization and modernization as well as promotion of the local economic development over the past time.
He hoped that local press agencies will continue to boost the campaign to “study and follow President Ho Chi Minh’s moral example”, contribute their incessant efforts to improve the newspaper's quality both in form and content to serve better the diverse information needs of readers or viewers as well as meet the public’s increasing demand.
At the event, two journalists who has just won C prize at the National Press Awards received certificates of merit of the provincial People’s Committee.

The Dong Nai Journalist’s Association awarded the Golden Pen Prize to 19 excellent articles. Accordingly, Dong Nai Newspaper won a second prize, 2 third prizes,and 3 consolidation prizes.
On this occasion, 9 journalists were awarded campaign medals “For the cause of journalism” and 45 others received the member's cards of Viet Nam Journalists' Association.
Viet Nam Revolutionary Journalism Day commemorates the occasion 88 years ago when late President Ho Chi Minh founded the nation's first newspaper, Thanh Nien (Young People).
