Established in 2009, the association has now more than 600 members who worked and served as volunteer soldiers during the struggle for independence in Laos.
Over the past years, the association has carried out many activities to strengthen mutual understanding, develop friendship, solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.
Particularly, the association sent delegations to Laos' provinces to offer free medical check-ups and medicine, present gifts to Laotian students studying in Dong Nai, take part in activities to celebrate the 35th anniversary of signing the Viet Nam – Laos Friendship and Cooperation Treaty (July 18, 1977 – July 18, 2012) and the 50th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Viet Nam and Laos (September 5, 1962 – September 5, 2012)
In the second half of the term, the association will continue to increase its members, send delegations to visit Laos and propagandize special historical value of the Viet Nam – Laos friendship to the young generations in both countries.
