(ĐN)- The first congress of Dong Nai province’s Former Political Prisoners was held yesterday at the provincial Conference Center.
The event was attended by Secretary Tran Dinh Thanh of provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman Nguyen Thanh Tri of the provincial People’s Committee, Chairman Vy Van Vu of Fatherland Front Committee and 216 delegates representing 1,128 members across the province.

The congress worked out orientations, targets and major tasks for the 2012-2017 period. Accordingly, Former Political Prisoners Liaison Board will launch practical activities to uphold its revolutionary tradition as well as make efforts to attach more attention to physical and spiritual lives of members.
Addressing at the event, Vice Chairman Nguyen Thanh Tri acknowledged the contributions made by the political prisoners in the resistance wars and in the national construction and defense. He hoped that the members will continue their efforts to participate actively in political and social activities, to be good examples for the young generation to follow.
The congress elected a 17-member executive committee for the 2011-2016 term. Ms Tran Thi Hoa was re-elected Head of the provincial Former Political Prisoners Liaison Board .
