(ĐN)- The third Vietnam-Cambodia people cooperation and friendship meeting program was officially opened in Dong Nai on August 2 by Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations (VUFO).

The event was attended by Cambodia’s Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Men Sam An, Secretary of Dong Nai provincial Party Committee Tran Dinh Thanh, former Chairman of the National Assembly External Affairs Committee and Chairman of Cambodia-Vietnam Friendship Association Vu Mao, Vice Chairpersons of People’s Council and Committee Huynh Thi Nga and Nguyen Thanh Tri, and delegates from two countries.

Addressing the event, Secretary Tran Dinh Thanh said the program is one of activities to strengthen the special solidarity and friendship between the two countries. It offers the two people a chance to raise awareness on Vietnam-Cambodia traditional friendship and long-lasting solidarity, share experience in carrying out friendship activities.
He also expressed his hope that delegates from both countries will make active contributions to the success of the program, meeting the expectations of the two Parties, States and peoples.

Deputy Prime Minister Men Sam An said the event is a venue to review bilateral traditional ties fostered by generations of Parties and State leaders and people of the two countries.
It is an opportunity to discuss how to boost bilateral cooperation with a view to further deepening the Cambodia – Vietnam, Vietnam – Cambodia special solidarity, she said.
