9th Dong Nai provincial Party Committee convenes sixth session

(ĐN)- The 6th session of the 9th Dong Nai provincial Party Committee opened in Dong Nai on September 30 under the chairmanship of Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Tran Dinh Thanh.

In his opening speech, Secretary Tran Dinh Thanh said said despite facing many difficulties, the province fulfilled and surpassed almost all set targets and plans and made comprehensive achievements in socio-economic development in the first nine months of the year. Dong Nai’s gross domestic product (GDP) in the nine-month period grew by 13.2 percent year-on-year, fulfilling 75.2 percent of the yearly plan. The industry-construction sector registered a 17.6 per cent increase. The province’s export turnover surpassed US$7 billion while the province imported products worth over US$ 8 billion during the first nine months of the year, up 30.3 percent and 23.7 percent respectively from the same period last year.
 
However, the Secretary also pointed out shortcomings that needed to be addressed such as the complicated situation of the latest epidemics of hand, foot and mouth disease and dengue fever in the province, the September consumer price index hitting a record high of 2.87 per cent month-on-month…
During the 2-day session, delegates discussed and assessed the implementation of the plan on the province’s socio-economic development in the first nine months of the year, and the socio-economic development plan for 2012.

At the session, delegates adopted a resolution on the province’s socio-economic development plan for 2012, agreeing with a GDP growth rate of 12-13 percent set by the province. In which, industry-construction will accountfor 57 per cent of the overall increase of GDP, services, 36.2 per cent, agriculture, forestry and fishery, 6.8 per cent.
The session closed on October 1.
