His cabinet structure of four deputy PMs and 22 ministries and ministry-level agencies were approved by the deputies.
While current Deputy Prime Ministers Hoang Trung Hai and Nguyen Thien Nhan were expected to keep their posts for the next five years, Minister and Chairman of the Government Office Nguyen Xuan Phuc and Minister of Finance Vu Van Ninh were nominated as new deputy PMs.
The four nominees are all below 60 years of age, with 52-year-old Deputy PM Hai as the youngest.
They will be responsible for the economy, agricultural development policies, industry and production, culture, education, science and technology, internal affairs and anti-corruption.
PM Dung kept only seven current ministers in his new cabinet with 15 others being fresh faces.
The seven ministers expected to continue their time in office include Minister of National Defence Phung Quang Thanh; Minister of Industry and Trade Vu Huy Hoang; Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Cao Duc Phat; Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Tuan Anh; Minister of Education and Training Pham Vu Luan; Minister of Justice Ha Hung Cuong; and Minister and Chairman of the Government Committee for Ethnic Minority Affairs Giang Seo Phu.û

The National Assembly yesterday also elected Dinh Tien Dung, member of the Party Central Committee and Party Committee Secretary of northern Ninh Binh Province, as the new State Auditor General, with 87 per cent of votes.
