150 poor students receive scholarships

(ĐN)- On Feb 12, at the meeting hall of Dong Nai provincial Party Committee, 150 poor primary and junior high students got scholarships, including saving books worth VND3 million each.

The scholarship receivers were orphans, students with dangerous diseases, and outstanding students from poor families.

This was part of the campaign of “Helping hand to poor students” launched to help students who have studied well in spite of their difficult circumstances.

The campaign was launched six months ago and raised more than VND1.7 billion from organizations, enterprises and sponsors.  

Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Bui Ngoc Thanh, Head of the Mass Mobilisation Department and Head of the campaign, hoped that the organizations and individuals will continue their support of the campaign to give a helping hand to poor students and limit the number of pupils who have to drop out because of financial difficulties.
