(ĐN) – The Dong Nai authorities confirmed on August 6 that a new outbreak of blue-ear disease in pigs has been detected in Trang Bom district’s Bac Son commune.
In recent days, new outbreaks of the disease have been reported in Vinh Cuu district’s Vinh Tan commune and Trang Bom district’s Bac Son commune.
According to Vinh Cuu district’s People’s Committee, local authorities destroyed 955 infected pigs in 82 households in Vinh Tan commune on August 6. Until now, the disease has spread to four more communes of Tri An, Tan An, Hieu Lien and Vinh An town in Vinh Cuu district.
The province has directed localities to strictly implement measures to stamp out and prevent the spread of the disease. All local authorities have been urged to strictly control the transport, slaughtering and trading of pigs in blue-ear epidemic-hit areas to prevent the deadly disease spreading further.
