(ĐN)- Min Young Woo Korean consul general in HCM city paid a courtesy visit to Dong Nai province’s leaders on August 19 before ending his working term in Vietnam. Secretary of the provincial Party’s Committee Tran Dinh Thanh and Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Vo Van Mot warmly received the consul general.

Mr. Min Young-Woo spoke highly the Dong Nai government’s support and assistance to foreign investors, including Korean investors, in the past time. He said RoK businesses have been attracted to the area by its investment environment, convenient geographical location, transportation systems and infrastructure and simplified administrative procedures. More than 200 RoK businesses have poured over $2 billion into the province so far and the consul general believes there are more on the way. He also hoped that the Dong Nai province’s government would continue to create favorable conditions for foreign investors generally and Korean investors particularly in the coming time.

 

On behalf of the province’s leaders, Secretary Tran Dinh Thanh thanked the consul general for his contributions during his working term to boost the relationship between Korea and Vietnam in general, and Dong Nai province in particular, especially in education, economics, investment and trade promotion. He pledged that Dong Nai’s leaders will make all efforts to help foreign investors to invest successfully in Dong Nai and contribute to the province’s socio-economic development.

 

Dong Nai province is home to 950 valid FDI projects by investors from 32 countries and territories around the world with a total registered capital of $14 billion. The Korea now has over 200 valid investment projects in Dong Nai , with a total direct investment of more than $2 billion, ranking third among foreign investors in the province. Presently, nearly 70,000 Korean people are living and working in Vietnam.
