Dong Nai to invest VND536 billion to build biotechnology centre

(ĐN)- On August 25, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Tran Van Vinh presided over a meeting with related agencies to discuss the construction of Dong Nai Biological Technology Centre.

(ĐN)- On August 25, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Tran Van Vinh presided over a meeting with related agencies to discuss the construction of Dong Nai Biological Technology Centre. Scientists from institutions and universities in HCM city also attended the meeting.

 

According to plan, the project will be built on an area of 208 ha in Cam My district’s Xuan Duong commune with a total estimated cost of VND536 billion.

 

The centre is established aiming to support the development of technological science in Dong Nai  and neighbor provinces. Accordingly, it will conduct basic, applied research of scientific themes related to biotechnology serving agriculture, health and the environment. Besides, the centre will also receive and transfer, as well as provide, consulting services related to modern biotechnology to produce biological products, train human resources and commercialise products related to biotechnology. The construction of the centre is expected to start in 2010.
