Scansia Pacific opens new factory in Dong Nai

Scansia Pacific Co., a joint venture company in the wood-working industry, opened a new factory in Dong Nai Provinces Tan Tao Vinatex Industrial Park on Tuesday, its second production facility after the first one in HCMCs Tan Tao Industrial Park.

Scansia Pacific Co., a joint venture company in the wood-working industry, opened a new factory in Dong Nai Provinces Tan Tao Vinatex Industrial Park on Tuesday, its second production facility after the first one in HCMCs Tan Tao Industrial Park.

 

The new factory covering about 5,000 square meters and capitalized at US$6mil is designed to turn out 100 to 120 container loads of products per month. This factory, however, is just the first phase of a project worth US$20mil in the province.

 

Speaking at the inauguration, Nguyen Chien Thang, managing director of Scansia Pacific, said that the second phase investment would begin in the second quarter of next year and the company would go public in November this year to mobilize more capital for the project.

 

When the project is in full steam in 2009, the factory will achieve an output capacity of some 300 containers per month, he told the Daily.

 

With the two factories, Scansia Pacific will be able to ship some 150 containers of woodwork a month to many countries. It expects to obtain total sales of VND256bil then and VND960tril (US$60mil) by 2010.

 

Scansia Pacific is a joint venture between partners of Vietnam, Northway and England under the Scansia Manufacturing Group.

 

In Vietnam, Scansia Pacific has seven factories in different fields including the production of handicraft products. Its sales last year amounted to VND165bil.
