
The National Assembly (NA) on August 2 approved with a majority of votes in favour the appointment of five Deputy Prime Ministers, 22 ministers and heads of ministerial level agencies proposed by Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung.
The National Assembly (NA) on August 2 approved with a majority of votes in favour the appointment of five Deputy Prime Ministers, 22 ministers and heads of ministerial level agencies proposed by Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung.
The five Deputy Prime Ministers are Nguyen Sinh Hung, Pham Gia Khiem, Truong Vinh Trong, Hoang Trung Hai and Nguyen Thien Nhan.
Brief biography of five Deputy Ministers
Mr. Hai was a member of the 9th and 10th Party Central Committee and deputy of the 11th and 12th National Assembly. He was the former General Director of the Electricity of Vietnam (EVN), Deputy Minister of Industry and Minister of Industry.
2/ Nguyen Thien Nhan was born in 1953 in Tra Vinh province. He is professor of economics, doctor of cybernetics, and has an M.A. in public management.
Mr. Nhan was former Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of HCM City and the current Minister of Education and Training. He is also a member of the Party Central Committee and member of the 10th, 11th, and 12th National Assembly
3/ Truong Vinh Trong was born in 1942 in Ben Tre province. He has a bachelor of literature and bachelor of economic management.
He previously was a member of the 9th Party Central Committee Secretariat, Head of the Central Home Affairs Committee. He is now a member of the Politburo and the Party Central Committee Secretariat.
In June 2006, the 11th National Assembly ratified Mr. Trong as Deputy Prime Minister. He is deputy of the 8th, 9th, and 11th National Assembly.
4/ Pham Gia Khiem was born in 1944 in
Mr. Khiem is deputy of the 10th, 11th and 12th National Assembly.

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, on behalf of the new-term Government, delivered a taking-office speech right after the NA adopted the Resolution approving the appointment of Deputy Prime Ministers, ministers and other members of the Government.
