Trang Bom district: Nearly 2.3 billion VND help the poor

(ĐN)- Trang Bom districts Fatherland Front Committee held a meeting yesterday to review its activities in the first half of 2007 and set tasks for the final half of the year.

The Committee reported that the district spent nearly VND 2.3 billion in the reviewed period to help the poor and people in difficult circumstances and people in misfortune overcome their difficulties and develop their capacity to gradually improve their situation to escape from poverty and stabilize their lives. Particularly, the district gave 10,705 Tet gifts worth VND 1.36 billion for the poor, offered 100 bicycles and 50 gifts for outstanding poor students with a total value of VND 75 million. In addition, as many as 74 houses were built for poor households in Trang Bom district in the first six months of the year with a total construction cost of nearly VND 700 million.
