Long Thanh Golf Club donates VND 300 million to victims of typhoon Durian

(ĐN)- Marking the 5th anniversary of its founding, Long Thanh Golf Club located in Tan Mai II Hamlet, Phuoc Tan Village, Long Thanh District in Dong Nai Province has organized a charity golf tournament to raise money for victims of typhoon Durian in the typhoon-stricken provinces of Ben Tre, Dong Nai and Ba Ria-Vung Tau. All the money raised from this event and donations from all staff working in Long Thanh Gofl Club amounting to VND 300 million go to help typhoon victims.

Chairman and general director of the Long Thanh Golf Investment and Trading Joint Stock Company Le Van Kiem is giving a cash donation to Dong Nai Red Cross Chapter to help typhoon victims.

Chairman and general director of the Long Thanh Golf Investment and Trading Joint Stock Company Le Van Kiem said Long Thanh Golf Club boasts the first golf course in Vietnam, which has been redesigned into a stunning 27-hole course. He said that although Long Thanh Golf is a truly Vietnamese golf course, built with Vietnamese investment capital, the golf course is thought by local and foreign golfers to be one of the most modern and beautiful golf courses in Vietnam in terms of landscape, design and professional services. He also added that the expansion plan for another 9-hole course will be complete late this year. He hoped that Long Thanh Golf Club will be rated one of the best courses in Asia, and will be among the most exclusive in the world.

For the past five years, the company has achieved a total turnover of more than VND 200 billion and contributed over VND 20 billion to the State budget and created jobs for 700 local people. In 2005 and 2006, the company spent over VND10 billion on social activities such as building houses of gratitude, supporting Agent Orange victims, sponsoring eye surgeries for the poor and heart operations for children suffering from congenital heart defects, and providing wheelchairs to the handicapped…
