(ĐN) – The Dong Nai Pediatrics Hospital recently a meeting to review implementation of the socialization of medical services in 2006. On the occasion, the hospital inaugurated its unit where they offer free services.

The hospital has 400 beds, receives every day on average between 500 and 600 inpatients and treats between 1,000 and 1,200 outpatients. The hospital has suffered serious overcrowding. Therefore, VND 3 billion was invested in construction of the new patient care facility that provides free medical examination and treatment for children. This facility is designed to share the patient burden with the overcrowded hospital. The unit includes the examination and treatment rooms, a parking area, a drugstore and a canteen that open 24 hours. In addition approximately 1 billion VND was invested in new medical equipment for the facility. The hospital said that the required VND 3.5 billion capital for new medical equipment in 2007 will be mobilised from the provincial budgets, contributions of people and from other resources in order to serve the health care needs of children with high quality care.
