Over the past years, the Dong Nai province-based Technical School Lilama 2 has cooperated with international vocational training organisations, such as Siemens, Api and Apollo, to train skilled workers for enterprises nationwide.

Under a training programme signed between the Lilama 2, an affiliate of the Viet Nam Machinery Construction and Installation Corp. (Lilama) and Chinas Kunming Metallurgy College, trainees will be sent to Kunming to continue learning and applying mechanical knowledge after a two-year course at the school.

The school reached an agreement with a Japanese school to teach trainees to weld in Japan and plans to send others to work in Canada.

Previously, 130 students who graduated in welding became guest workers for thermoelectricity and nuclear power projects in Taiwan.

With these attempts, the Lilama 2 has become the first vocational training school in Viet Nam that was granted with an international certificate by City & Guilds V, the UKs largest awarding body for the national vocational qualification.
