First prize for local photographer in The Nature Conservancy contest

A piece titled "Dance in the Sea" by Vietnamese photographer Le Van Vinh has been awarded the first prize in the "people in nature" category at this year's Nature Conservancy's global photo contest.

 

 

A piece titled “Dance in the Sea” by Vietnamese photographer Le Van Vinh has been awarded the first prize in the “people in nature” category at this year’s Nature Conservancy’s global photo contest.

Vinh’s photo depicts fisherman casting their fishing nets in Hon Yen island of Phu Yen province. Vinh has previous experience in winning photo contests having been awarded the first prize during the AGORA Images Beauty competition in July.

In total, the contest attracted 21,774 entries with the participation of photographers from 152 countries worldwide. This image of a California sea lion captured by Tyler Schiffman from the US won the grand prize.
