Son Cha island, also known as Hon Chao island, is located at the foot of the Hai Van pass, and is part of Lang Co town in Phu Loc district in the central province of Thua Thien Hue |
The island is situated approximately 10 nautical miles from the mainland. It sits at an altitude of 235 metres above sea level and has a width of 1.5 kilometres |
In additional to stunning landscapes, the island is also home to coral reefs that hold over 144 species, 135 different types of seaweed, and 162 types of colourful fish |
Visitors to the island can also try out scuba diving in the fantastic crystal blue water to get a good view of coral reefs on the island |

The island is listed among the nation’s 15 marine reserves |
