Artist turns fabric scraps into paintings

Beautiful fabric scrap paintings are on display at the Exhibition House, 16 Ngo Quyen Str in Hanoi. The exhibition will run until December 17.

This is the first solo exhibition by young artist Nguyen Thu Huyen  With small fabric scraps, Thu Huyen has made 20 paintings, focusing on women and their different emotional levels  Based on quilting technique, Thu Huyen has created unique paintings  Based on quilting technique, Thu Huyen has created unique paintings  Normally, fabric scrap paintings are created with different fabrics which have suitable colours and patterns. However, Thu Huyen has chosen a different way  She does not depend on existing patterns on the fabrics. In stead, she creates her own patterns The paintings are a combination of different shades of colours  Thu Huyen has pursued the art for 10 years
