Visiting Suoi Giang Commune, in Van Chan District of the northern mountainous province of Yen Bai, travellers will not only enjoy poetic scenery but also have a chance to taste tea collected from 1,000-year-old trees and learn about the peaceful life of the local people.

Suoi Giang is a mountainous commune, located at an altitude of 1,400 m above sea level, about 180 km from Hanoi.

This is a home to four ethnic groups of Hmong, Kinh, Dao, and Tay, of which the Hmong people account for over 98% of the population.

Hmong people still preserve their traditional culture.

The Hmong live mainly on the high slopes so their houses are designed with appropriate structures to the mountain terrain.

The life of Hmong people is very simple but peaceful.
