Under the directive, Phuc reaffirmed the Government’s dual task of fighting the epidemic and ensuring socio-economic development.
He urged authorities at all levels to continue serious observance of drastic measures on the outbreak control figured out by the Communist Party of Viet Nam Central Committee’s Secretariat and the Government as well as directions of the Prime Minister and the Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.
Facilitating credit access
The Government chief tasked the State Bank of Viet Nam to direct credit institutions shorten time required to examine loan applications and facilitate credit access.
Credit institutions need to reschedule the repayment term and consider the exemption and reduction of interest rates four their customers who are in trouble due to the COVID-19.
The central bank was asked to coordinate with the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Planning and Investment and relevant agencies to promptly put forward credit policies in support of those affected by the epidemic and report to the Prime Minister this March.
In addition, the SBV was requested to deploy measures to accelerate non-cash payment.
Tax and land lease payment extension
The Ministry of Finance was asked to submit to the Government a draft decree on the tax and land lease payment extension for those affected by the COVID-19 in March.
It was also told to urgently submit to the Government policies on tax and charge reduction/exemption to help ease difficulties against production and business activities.
Fostering trade
As the businesses are facing shortage of input materials, the Ministry of Industry and Trade was asked to propose solutions to diversify and ensure sufficient supplies for domestic production, as well as to accelerate exports to China and other markets through official channels.
The ministry is responsible for promoting and improving efficiency of trade promotion activities while diversifying import-export markets and seeking new ones./.
