Gov't tightens scrap import

The Government has recently issued Decree 40 to guide the Law on environmental protection especially to amend and supplement regulations on scrap imports for production materials.

The Government has recently issued Decree 40 to guide the Law on environmental protection especially to amend and supplement regulations on scrap imports for production materials. 
 
Under the new Decree, scrap imports for production materials must meet requirements as stipulated in Item 1, Article 76 of the Law on environmental protection. 

Scrap import organizations and individuals are allowed to conduct customs procedures at border gates customs offices or customs offices where scrap import factories are located. 

Scrap imports are permitted to upload if they meet the following requirements:

- Valid certifications of environmental protection;

- Written confirmation of signed fund for scrap imports on E-Manifest. 

Customs offices are responsible for inspecting the aforesaid conditions before allowing uploading. 

In addition, Decree 40 also asked individuals and organizations to comply with requirements for environmental protection as stipulated in Point 2, Item 3 Article 76 of the Law on Environmental Protection./.
