The Government continues to issue three Decrees on Viet Nam’s preferential import tariff to realize three Agreements signed with other countries.

Three Decrees include Decree No.131/2016/NĐ-CP on defining Viet Nam’s preferential import tariff in implementing the Viet Nam-Republic of Korea Free Trade Agreement in the 2016-2018 period, Decree No. 132/2016/NĐ-CP on defining Viet Nam’s preferential import tariff in accordance with the Viet Nam-Chile Free Trade Agreement in 2016-2018 phase and Decree No.133/2016/NĐ-CP on defining Viet Nam’s preferential import tariff in launching Viet Nam-Japan Economic Partnership Agreement in the 2016-2019 period.

On May 5, 2015, then Vietnamese Minister of Industry and Trade Vu Huy Hoang and Minister of Commerce, Industry and Energy Korea Yoon Sang-jick, representing the governments of the two countries, signed the Viet Nam - Korea Free Trade Agreement (VKFTA) in Ha Noi, Viet Nam.

On January 01, 2014, the Viet Nam-Chile Free Trade Agreement officially took effect, creating a great opportunity for the two countries to boost economic ties.

The Viet Nam-Japan Economic Partnership Agreement (VJEPA), which entered into force on October 1, 2009, is a comprehensive bilateral agreement which affects domains such as commercial trade, service industries and investment. The agreement seeks to improve various issues such as business environment, labor mobility and cooperation on technical standards.

These Decrees will take effect since September 1, 2016.
