Automobile tariffs will be cut down by 3-6 per cent to 80 per cent and 77 per cent, according to the Ministry of Finance.

The cuts are followed by Circular No 31/2010/TT-BTC on the tariffs amendments that will come into effect on April 22, 2010.

 

Particularly, import tariffs on under-nine-seat cars that are powered with petrol and have cylinders with capacity of 2.5 liter and above will be 80 per cent.   

 

Meanwhile, 4-wheels cars with two main axles will see 77 per cent tariffs from the current of 83 per cent.

 

Also under the Circular, the Ministry of Finance also introduced an import tariff of 0% on iron and steel and 15% on some others. The remaining commodities will have import tariffs around 5-10%.
