Decision No. 276/2006/QD-TTg: On selling prices of electricity

The Prime Minister issued this Decision on Dec. 4, setting a roadmap for adjusting selling prices of electricity in the 2007-2010 period.

The Prime Minister issued this Decision on Dec. 4, setting a roadmap for adjusting selling prices of electricity in the 2007-2010 period.

According to this Decision, the average retail price of electricity will be raised to VND 842/kWh as from January 1, 2007 and VND 890/kWh as from July 1, 2008. From 2010 on, the retail prices of electricity will be regulated by the market.

The Decision also says that the electricity prices has been adjusted on the principles of supporting poor people, low-income earners and rural population, gradually abolishing subsidies for production activities and encouraging power saving.

This Decision takes effect on Jan. 1, 2007.
