Decree No. 72/2006/ND-CP: Vietnam-based representative offices and branches of foreign traders

The Government issued this Decree on July 25, detailing the implementation of the Commercial Law regarding Vietnam-based representative offices of foreign traders.

The Government issued this Decree on July 25, detailing the implementation of the Commercial Law regarding Vietnam-based representative offices of foreign traders.

The Decree, comprising 32 articles arranged in 5 chapters, specifies the establishment, operation, rights and obligations of Vietnam-based representative offices and branches of foreign traders that are specialized in goods sale and purchase and conduct activities directly related thereto.

It also defines rights to set up Vietnam-based representative offices and branches of foreign traders, and relevant permit-granting agencies.

Representative offices and branches of foreign-invested enterprises set up in Vietnam are not governed by this Decree.
