Decree No. 03/2006/ND-CP: Minimum levels of wage for Vietnamese laborers in foreign-invested sector

The Decree, issued by the Government on January 6, 2006, provides the minimum levels of wage for Vietnamese laborers doing the simplest jobs in normal working conditions for foreign-invested enterprises, foreign agencies and organizations, international organizations and foreigners in Vietnam, specifically as follows

The Decree, issued by the Government on January 6, 2006, provides the minimum levels of wage for Vietnamese laborers doing the simplest jobs in normal working conditions for foreign-invested enterprises, foreign agencies and organizations, international organizations and foreigners in Vietnam, specifically as follows:

 

- VND 870,000/month for enterprises operating in urban districts of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh cities;

 

- VND 790,000/month for enterprises operating in rural districts of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh cities; urban districts of Hai Phong city; Ha Long city of Quang Ninh province; Bien Hoa city of Dong Nai province; Vung Tau city of Ba Ria-Vung Tau province; Thu Dau Mot provincial capital and the rural districts of Thuan An, Di An, Ben Cat and Tan Uyen of Binh Duong province.

 

- VND 710,000 for enterprises operating in remaining localities.

 

According to the Decree, the minimum wages paid to trained laborers must be at least 7% higher than the minimum levels set above. Enterprises are encouraged to apply minimum wages higher than those stated above.

 

This Decree takes effect as from February 1, 2006.
