The Ministry of Finance on October 13 announced adjustments to import tariff rates for some commodities.
A new import tax rate of 50 per cent will be applied to paper used for writing, drawing, printing and photocopying, as well as to air conditioners in the under-26.38kW category. A tax rate of 100 per cent is to be imposed on trucks weighing under five tonnes.
Goods such as precious gems and steel products will be not be taxed, under Decision 69/2005/QD-BTC.
