It is precisely the area’s heroic tradition forged during the years of resistance that has provided the strength for the locality to overcome difficulties and challenges and work together to build a new life, achieving many important results across various areas of social life. Phuoc Long continues to transform, marked by its own distinctive fresh hues that make local residents even more proud.
Promoting advantages
Amid the fertile red basalt soils of Dong Nai Province, Bau Nghe hamlet in Phuoc Long ward has long been regarded as a zone for green and sustainable agriculture, closely linked with environmental protection and improvements in people’s livelihoods by leveraging its available water resources, soil conditions and ecosystems.
Truong Van Dao, Director of the Bau Nghe Fruit Cooperative in Phuoc Long ward, shared: “I have long considered Phuoc Long my second hometown. My family has relocated here for more than 30 years, and like many other residents, I want to develop sustainable agriculture and work together to build prosperity from farming. With the area being planned by the State as an ecological agricultural zone and benefiting from the new-style rural development program, moving towards advanced new-style rural standards, local roads and power infrastructure are now adequate to support daily life and production, which makes me very happy.”
The Bau Nghe Fruit Cooperative has more than 20 members managing nearly 300 hectares of fruit trees, mainly durians. Under its sustainable agriculture orientation, local government encourages residents and cooperative members to step up the application of science and technology, supports farmers in production transformation, and gradually builds agricultural value chains linked with protection of the Bau Nghe ecological environment.
Tran Van Duong, Deputy Director of the Bau Nghe Fruit Cooperative, said: “To develop durian trees sustainably over the long term, the cooperative members fully comply with Vietnam Good Agricultural Practices (VietGAP) standards to meet export requirements. We have made systematic investments and are united in following the same production process.”
Identifying trade and services as key sectors in its economic development strategy, Phuoc Long ward regularly encourages and facilitates businesses to invest and expand operations, attracting capital and financial resources in this sector. In 2025, the ward issued 350 business registration certificates, including 250 new registrations.
Nguyen Thi Hong Thom, store manager of a WinMart outlet in Phuoc Long Ward, said: “The ward government, especially specialized officials and staff at the Public Administration Service Center, as well as other sectors, have provided a great deal of support to our business. This assistance has made our operations much more convenient.”

Phuoc Long ward possesses many outstanding advantages for tourism development. It is proud to be home to sites of significant historical and cultural values such as Ba Ra Mountain, the Thac Mo Hydropower Reservoir, Ba Shrine, and the Museum of the Route 14 – Phuoc Long Campaign, making it an ideal destination for visitors. These advantages not only create ideal conditions for heritage and experiential tourism, but also help shape Phuoc Long into a service and eco-tourism center linked with the province’s cultural and historical identity.
All of 14 targets met or exceeded in 2025
Phuoc Long ward was established through the administrative reorganization of the entire natural area and population of Long Thuy, Thac Mo and Son Giang wards and Phuoc Tin commune of the former Phuoc Long town, covering an area of more than 71 square kilometers and a population of over 33,000.
In 2026, the ward has set a range of socio-economic development targets, with a focus on effective planning and investment in infrastructure projects. Priorities include strengthening transport connectivity and proposing that the province include key connecting routes in the public investment program, such as Provincial Road 759 with a bridge linking to Bom Bo commune and connections to Phu Nghia commune
In 2025, in implementing the resolutions of the ward Party Committee and People’s Council, seven out of 14 key socio-economic targets were exceeded and the remaining seven were met. Phuoc Long is gradually affirming its position as a dynamic and developing urban area. Phan Tan Lam, Secretary of the Party Cell of Long Thuy 4 Neighborhood in Phuoc Long ward, said: “In recent years, Phuoc Long has invested heavily in infrastructure. Roads have been maintained and upgraded, along with public welfare facilities. I find that people’s lives are changing and improving, and residents are becoming more settled.”
With the joint efforts of Party committees, government and local residents, Phuoc Long has made remarkable progress. In 2025, the ward’s budget revenue reached 145.4 percent of the target assigned by the provincial People’s Committee and 139.2 percent of the target approved by the ward People’s Council. During the year, the ward coordinated with relevant units to create jobs for 1,868 workers, reaching 105 percent of the target. To date, 10 out of 12 public schools in the ward have met national standards and quality accreditation requirements.
