The launch ceremony was attended by Nguyen Kim Long, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of the Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee and Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for the 2026 Economic Census, together with leaders of Dong Nai Statistics Office and Bien Hoa Ward.
The 2026 Economic Census is a large-scale national statistical survey conducted in accordance with the Law on Statistics and decisions of the Ministry of Finance. It aims to collect comprehensive data on enterprises, individual business households, public service units, associations, as well as religious and belief establishments nationwide. Its results play a critical role in assessing the overall state and capacity of the economy and serve as an essential basis for compiling key macroeconomic indicators, including GDP and GRDP.

According to Dong Nai Statistics Office, the 2026 Economic Census will be implemented nationwide in two phases. Phase 1, from early January 2026 to the end of March 2026, focuses on surveying individual production and business establishments, religious and belief establishments, and cooperative groups. In Dong Nai Province, this phase encompasses approximately 225,000 production establishments and individual business households, as well as nearly 1,700 religious and belief establishments. During this phase, enumerators will conduct direct interviews with establishment owners or managers and enter information into electronic data collection devices.
Phase 2, from April 2026 to the end of June 2026, will survey enterprises, cooperatives, and non-public service units, with online declaration prioritized.

Addressing the launch ceremony, Cao Dang Vien, Director of Dong Nai Statistics Office and Deputy Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for the Economic Census, emphasized that the 2026 Economic Census is not only a technical task of the statistical sector but also a significant political mission for the province. The census will provide a comprehensive, objective, and scientific overview of Dong Nai’s economic structure, production scale, competitiveness, level of digital transformation, and the spatial distribution of economic establishments. These findings will serve as a critical basis for effective leadership, management, and the development of strategies and plans that align with local realities.

“I respectfully request that enterprises, business households, public service units, associations, and religious and belief establishments in the province actively cooperate and provide complete, timely, and accurate information to the census enumerators. Providing information is not only a responsibility in accordance with legal regulations, but also a practical benefit, contributing to the development of an important data foundation to serve the sustainable development of the province as well as the economic establishments themselves,” said Cao Dang Vien.
