Dong Nai General Hospital marks its 123rd founding  anniversary

(ĐN) - On April 25, Dong Nai General Hospital solemnly held a ceremony to celebrate the 123rd founding  anniversary of the hospital (April 25, 1902 - April 25, 2025) and 10 years of inheritance and development (2015-2025) since moving to the new facility.

At the ceremony, generations of doctors who were former leaders of the Department of Health and Dong Nai General Hospital through different periods, along with the staff and employees who have worked and are working at the hospital, reviewed the 123-year history of the hospital's formation and development.

Speaking at the ceremony, Director of Dong Nai General Hospital Ngo Duc Tuan said that the predecessor of Dong Nai General Hospital was Bien Hoa Hospital (also known as Bien Hoa Charity Hospital). From a small-scale hospital, the hospital was gradually upgraded and expanded to meet the healthcare needs of the people.

On April 25, 2015, after 8 years of approval and construction, the new Dong Nai General Hospital (No. 02, Dong Khoi Street, Binh Da Ward, Bien Hoa City) was put into use with spacious, modern, and complete facilities and equipment, and the human resources team has been increasingly improved in both quality and quantity.

For over a century, despite many difficulties and challenges, with a spirit of high unity and determination, the hospital's Board of Directors has unanimously led and directed the hospital to overcome difficult periods, continue to develop comprehensively, and meet the increasingly high healthcare needs of the people.

At the ceremony, Deputy Director of the Department of Health Nguyen Van Binh highly appreciated and congratulated the achievements of Dong Nai General Hospital. This has contributed to helping the Dong Nai health sector successfully fulfill its mission of protecting and caring for the people's health.

However, the leaders of the Department of Health also requested the collective of hospital leaders and staff not to "rest on their laurels," but to continue to strive and innovate to overcome difficulties and challenges. These include the current degradation of facilities; new regulations related to medical examination and treatment; medical digital transformation; and operation and activities after the merger of Dong Nai province and Binh Phuoc province.

The leaders of the Department of Health always accompany, direct, and create the best conditions for the hospital to successfully complete its assigned tasks. At the same time, they believe that with the leadership of the hospital's Board of Directors, the unity, consensus, young and abundant human resources who dare to think and do, modern facilities and equipment, etc., the hospital will continue to develop to new heights.

Dong Nai General Hospital currently has over 1.6 thousand staff and employees. Every day, the hospital receives, examines, and treats 3.5 - 4 thousand outpatient visits; and treats over 1 thousand inpatients.
