(ĐN) - Dong Nai recorded more than 18,700 dengue fever cases in the first 8 months of 2022, surging 370% from a year earlier, Department of Health said.
The mosquito-borne viral disease also claimed 16 lives during the period, 15 cases higher than that of the previous year.
The DoH has asked the localities to keep a close watch on the developments of the disease to prevent from spreading out.
Attention will be paid to stepping up dissemination to raise public awareness of disease prevention and control, improve environmental sanitation, and spray chemicals to kill mosquito larvae.
