So far this year, the province recorded over 2,800 cases, including two deaths. The rate of dengue in children accounted for nearly 70 percent under the age of 15, increasing 26.2 percent over the same period last year.
On May 25, Children’s Hospital of Dong Nai Province was recorded having been treating more than 80 dengue patients, including more than 20 percent of them having signs of shock because of misdiagnosis between Covid-19 and dengue fever.
To minimize dengue cases, doctors recommend people to fully cover all water containers so that the mosquitoes cannot lay eggs inside, eliminate mosquito larvae and clean water containers regularly. They also suggest sleeping with mosquito nets, wear long-sleeve clothes and coordinate with local medical workers to spray chemicals to prevent the disease.
