At present, around 13,000 Covid-19 patients in Dong Nai are being quarantined at home and treated at quarantine sites and hospitals, including 445 being in critical condition. Many wards in Bien Hoa City are overloaded with Covid-19 patients.

So, in many cases, the patients have not received timely support from local medical staff, including those working at local businesses. This has been attributed to the lack of medical workers.

The slow response to Covid-19 infections in Dong Nai is a contributory factor in the considerable increase in new cases.

To date, Dong Nai has maintained only eight quarantine sites with a total 2,411 beds in Vinh Cuu, Thong Nhat, Xuan Loc and Long Thanh districts.

Director of Dong Nai Province’s Health Department Phan Huy Anh Vu admitted the shortage of medical staff to provide intensive care for patients with worsening health. To improve the situation, the department will assign local hospitals to arrange at least 20 beds for Covid-19 treatment.
