The national caseload includes 1,040,346 loacally transmitted cases recorded since late April when the fourth COVID-19 wave began.
The same day, the ministry reported 6,481 new recoveries, taking the total number of recovered cases to 870,997.
It also announced further 87 fatalities in Ho Chi Minh City (35), Binh Duong (7), Long An (6), Bac Lieu (6), Dong Nai (5), Ca Mau (5), Tay Ninh (3), Dong Thap (3), Binh Thuan (3), An Giang (3), Soc Trang (2), Tien Giang (2), Kien Giang (2), Gia Lai (1), Vinh Long (1), Khanh Hoa (1), Ben Tre (1), and Hau Giang (1), bringing the nation’s death toll to 23,270, representing 2.2 percent of the total infections.
The nation has administered 100,862,898 COVID-19 vaccine doses, an increase of 1,089,217 doses from Monday./.
