Last week, Phan Huy Anh Vu, director of the Dong Nai Department of Health, has signed an official document asking the Dong Nai People's Committee to provide 6.2 million doses of vaccine for all 3.1 million residents in the province through the provincial budget.
According to the Dong Nai Department of Health, the pandemic is still developing and vaccination is an effective solution to keep the infection rate low in the long-run.
Le Viet Dung, deputy head of the Drug Administration of Vietnam signed the official document to import the first 204,000 doses into Vietnam on February 9. Vietnam also expects to receive 4.88 million doses of vaccines via the Covax Facility in the first quarter which is enough for 2,443,300 people. Due to the limited amount of vaccine, priority will be given to frontline workers and people in outbreak areas.
