Vietnam has been through 56 days without recording any single coronavirus case in the community, keeping the national infection tally at 332 while the total number of recoveries amounted to 320, the Ministry of Health said on June 11.

Earlier on June 10,  a further three patients suffering from the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) were announced to have made a successful recovery from the virus, bringing the overall number of fully covered cases to 320, or 96.4% of all patients.

Of the total 332 cases confirmed, 192 were imported and the remainder were community transmissions.

As many as 9,226 cases having close contact with registered patients and entering the country from epidemic-hit areas are being kept in quarantine.

There are only 12 active cases in treatment up to now and among them, four have tested negative for the SARS-CoV-2 virus once or at least twice.

Meanwhile, the most critical case of COVID-19, the British pilot who is undergoing treatment at HCM City-based Cho Ray Hospital, continues to show signs of remarkable recovery.

All 49 other foreigners with COVID-19 in Vietnam have gone on to make a full recovery. The British patient is the final foreigner in treatment so far in the country. Despite having tested negative for the SARS-CoV-2 virus, his health remains weak and needs further treatment in the coming time.
