According to Minister Tien’s guideline, medical facilities must reduce single-use and non-degradable plastic items such as bags, dishes, straw and other items for serving patients and their relatives as well as in conventions, meeting, seminars and all activities.
Instead, medical institutions should use environmentally friendly and recyclable items.
The Ministry of Health proposed to include plastic item reduction standard into infirmaries’ regulation. Also, medical workers should popularize single-use plastic reduction to patients, their relatives and community.
Health institutions should propose initiatives and apply it effectively to cut down plastic items in its activities to protect patients, the community and environment. Physicians should use oral medications in their prescription.
With the determination of all medical workers, health sector will use environmentally friendly items totally.
