(ĐN) -On July 22, Thong Nhat district’s Red Cross Chapter in cooperation with Cho Ray Cho Ray Regional Blood Transfusion and Haematology Centre launched a voluntary blood donation program at Minh Hoa Parish.
Nearly 300 volunteers, who are dignitaries and Catholic followers, state employees and local residents registered to take part in this socially meaningful event. 131 of them were selected to donate blood after conducting the screening tests. Accordingly, 131 blood units were collected and provided to hospitals.
The chapter received 1,304 blood units since the beginning of this year, fulfilling 81.5 percent of the yearly target.
