Last year, the locality reached a prenatal screening rate of over 80 percent and the rate of newborn screening of 61%. Meanwhile, 17.6 percent of elderly people underwent health check-ups at least once per year.
Deputy Director Huynh Cao Hai of Health Department said that the sector will continue implementing its project on screening tests before and during pregnancy to boost population quality and increasing the rate of married couples using contraception.
