The number of cases is increasing in the province and many measles patients were children between 9 and 24 months old.
In recent time, the health sector strengthened measures to prevent a possible outbreak of the disease. Accordingly, hospitals and clinics have been asked to quarantine infected patients, look at staff training, facilities and medical equipment and supplies to ensure that measles is treated correctly. Patients and family members are also urged to protect themselves and wash their hands regularly.
The sector is also continuing vaccination campaigns to make sure that all children are vaccinated against measles.
