The fall is the result of efforts made by the health sector involved.
So far this year, the province has seen 373 measles cases, more than 5,700 dengue fever cases and 10,400 hand-foot-and-mouth disease patients. Accordingly, two deaths caused by the dengue fever and one by HFM were reported.
The Department of Health urged localities to be proactive in carrying out campaigns to prevent an outbreak during the peak season for these infections.
Particularly, the department has instructed health officials to inform the public about anti-mosquito measures, and inspect hygiene at nurseries and kindergartens, residential areas, etc.
