(ĐN)- On October 4, a delegation led by Prof., Dr. Tran Dac Phu, Head of the Ministry of Health's Department of Preventive Medicine had a working session in Dong Nai on strengthening preventive measures to control the spread of hand-foot-mouth, measles and dengue-fever diseases.
On this occasion, the delegation visited and worked at Dong Nai Children Hospital. According to report from the hospital, over 6,100 hand-foot-mouth cases were reported in the province and more than 1,700 victims were hospitalized in the first nine months. In September only, the hospital admitted as many as 593 children with hand-foot-mouth infections, making up 34.7 percent.
Speaking at the session, Mr Tran Dac Phu suggested the province’s health sector to inform the public about preventive measures to avoid an outbreak of infectious diseases, and inspect hygiene at nurseries and kindergartens.
