The health sector is enhancing communication campaigns to raise public awareness of the diseases, spraying chemicals in residential areas to kill mosquitoes and mosquito larvae and reduce the risk of dengue fever.

The sector will also intensify the sterilization of kindergartens and provide Chloramine B to wards and communes to prevent the spread of hand, foot and mouth disease in the new school year.

Since the beginning of this year, the province reported more than 4,000 dengue fever cases, including two deaths. Bien Hoa city has been among leading localities in the province in the number of dengue fever cases with over 1,500 cases.

Meanwhile, more than 6,100 local children visited hospital for hand-foot-mouth disease treatment in the reviewed period. Most of the patients came from Bien Hoa city, Trang Bom, Vinh Cuu and Xuan Loc districts.
