(ĐN)- Dinh Quan district People’s Committee on July 25 put into use a methadone treatment centre for drug addicts at Phu Lơi commune’s Health Station.
The center, the sixth of its kind in Dong Nai, is built at a total cost of over VND600 million. It aims to provide methadone treatment for about 140 drug users.
Methadone has been proven to be an effective method in helping improve the overall health of drug users, reduce crimes and slow the incidence rate of HIV transmission and other blood-borne diseases.
