So far, the province had more than 7,600 HIV carriers and over 2,300 deaths from AIDS. Accordingly, the province authorities currently monitor and provide free treatment for 4,100 people infected with HIV. The Bien Hoa city, Long Thanh district and Long Khanh town have the highest rate in the province.
The sexual transmission of the HIV virus is rising. In the coming time, the health sector will focus on expanding and improving the quality of relevant activities to reduce the harms of HIV/AIDS.
It will also reinforce and diversify the models of voluntary HIV tests, and give priority to difficult and remote areas.
