(ĐN)- Doctors of Dong Nai Children Hospital have saved an 11-day-old baby suffering from a ruptured intestine right after being born.
The baby had a rare pierced Meckel's diverticulum, a true congenital diverticulum, is a small bulge in the small intestine present at birth. This is the first case treated in Dong Nai Children Hospital.
After being diagnosed, the baby was immediately rushed for an operation to cut out 3 cm of small intestine which was infested by deformity of Meckel's diverticulum.
After 10 days of treatment at the hospital, baby’s health has gradually improved.
